Matt is the Principal & Managing Director of LJ Hooker Broadbeach, previously owning a successful boutique real estate office in Broadbeach, Conduit Agencies for 10 years prior to the same street front location in the heart of Broadbeach showcasing our current stock and our new developments.
Having grown up on a cattle property in the 'middle of nowhere' he believes it was the hard work and long hours required back then that has formed the foundation of what it takes to make a success in this business also.
Licensed for the past 25 years, Matt has successfully represented the large majority of Gold Coast Developers and their projects over the years.
Matt has developed a substantial client base that he continually services & most of his business now is referrals from previous buyers and sellers & after 25 years full time in this business he has certainly gained the skills of connecting people with property. Matt believes time in this business simply cannot be purchased or replaced - it needs to be earned and learned from hands-on experience.
His knowledge of the Gold Coast and his ability to build trust and confidence, together with his experience and product knowledge is well respected in the industry. Matt recently made the top '100 Australian' agents awarded by the real estate business institute & was also awarded the ‘Multi-Million Dollar Captains Club’ membership which currently ranks him within the top 2.5% of selling agents within the National LJ Hooker network consisting of over 600 offices. There is only ‘1’ way to achieve this level of success and that is consistently doing the right thing by my buyers, sellers, and Developers.
Matt and his company market properties in all price range and handle the complete transaction from valuers, lawyers, and financiers all the way through to a successful settlement.
Matt was fortunate to handle all the marketing of the Waterline Development in Broadbeach in 2004 and sold the entire building out, so this is certainly one of his favorite buildings and he has re-sold more apartments in the boutique building than any agent on the coast, consistently achieving high prices for vendors.
Matt’s LJ Hooker Broadbeach office is in a prime position in the heart of Broadbeach, with the street front showroom on busy ‘Surf Parade’ and is designed to attract southern buyers on the lookout while they are holidaying in our region and help them select the most suitable asset purchase. Managing these assets on behalf of our clients is a vital step in the succession plan and therefore his ‘Property Management’ division is in a separate office in Albert avenue, conveniently 2 minutes’ walk away from the showroom.
LJ Hooker Broadbeach has a new ‘Development’ arm that specialises in the marketing of new apartment developments exclusively for our local developers. Selling new projects has played a huge part in Matt’s success, having been ‘handpicked’ 10 years ago to represent some of the world’s largest Developers in Dubai. Matt quotes it as quite a ‘crazy time’, with over 250 sales per month being generated within the company he was working with, ‘there were also over 500 Developments under construction at the time in an area the size of the Gold Coast’ – a very enjoyable and successful experience.
Leading from the front Matt personally handles all transactions and negotiations for his vendors and developers rather than passing on such important responsibilities as many competitors do.
Selling a property is Matt’s forte … with a surname that means to “connect “… how could he not love selling? Matt finds himself to be extremely fortunate to have established over the years a very loyal and skilled team of professionals surrounding him within the company and a staff of 14.
